Qualification: Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Otago, University, 1996)
Biography:
I have over 25 years experience working in the musculoskeletal field of Physiotherapy. During my career I have worked in a variety of environments including;
-NZ Hospitals, U.K. Military rehabilitation centers, Private sports medicine clinics, Rheumatology hospital, Chronic pain teams, Concussion and Vestibular rehabilitation.
I have also worked on most ACC contracts including :
Return to work, Chronic pain, Concussion, Sensitive claims, Training for independence.
Clinical interest:
I have spent many years honing my skills in the Treatment of complex cases, blending physical therapy and cognitive behavioral approaches to help clients both understand and recover their independence from pain and disability. The last 5 years I have added vestibular and concussion treatment to my skill set.
Hobbies / interest.
I am married with two sons at University. I have played most sports but more recently been playing competitive snooker and 8 ball. Creatively I have dabbled in painting and stone and wood sculptures.
Why you love being a physio/ part of a team.
I love being a Physio because every 30 min I meet someone new with a chance to unravel together a unique human puzzle. I also enjoy Teaching and Sharing my experiences with both clients and colleagues.
